With the mobile industry adopting Bluetooth technology as a standard for data communication between mobile to mobile, mobile to computer, mobile to headsets, mobile to printer, the use of this new technology has got a tremendous boost. As almost all the mobile manufacturers have adopted Bluetooth as the standard for short range data communication, the way data is now being transferred at short ranges has undergone radical changes and this is bound to change further. People are becoming more and more dependent on their mobiles. Using a Bluetooth enabled mobile has now become a pre-requirement for any person. The spread of mobile technology has spread the Bluetooth technology to far flung places and everyone is now demanding Bluetooth enabled equipment.
Bluetooth is a form of radio communication which works over the 2.4 GHZ band and is a license free technology. It uses radio waves to communicate to other Bluetooth enabled devices and transfer data. The range of Bluetooth device is usually 10 meters and now upgraded technology is available which has an increased rage of 25 meters.
Bluetooth provides a simplified connectivity protocols where two devices ‘talk’ to each other on a one is to one basis using a ‘passkey’ to authenticate the others identity. This is a very easy task and not very hard to accomplish. Bluetooth has enabled the creation of a simple network of devices using radio waves in place of cables which is quite convenient as the user does not have any burden of identify and locating cables. Bluetooth does not differentiate as to what data is being transferred to the other device; it can share practically all types of data including voice data. Bluetooth delivers data at a reasonably good speed of 720 kilo bytes per second. The newer version of Bluetooth will have more speed and is due for release very soon.
