Bluetooth Revolution

Communication over short range especially in mobiles has been revolutionized by the new technology called Bluetooth. Bluetooth is a free of license technology developed using commonly available discrete components and uses the free radio bandwidth of 2.4GHZ. Bluetooth uses a basic radio setup to interact with another Bluetooth enabled device. The communication between the two devices can be either be secure or unsecure. When using secure mode a passkey is exchanged between the two devices to establish the connection and once that has been done data transfer takes place instantly.

Bluetooth has brought about a revolution about how we work using our various Bluetooth enabled devices. The home network using two computers, printer, scanner and mobile phone can be put into existence within minutes either by using the inbuilt facilities in the computers and peripherals or using Bluetooth dongles on the computers. It would just take a few minutes to set up the whole setup to start working. You broad band connection can be shared between two computers using a blue tooth LAN. Earlier every time a new computer or piece of equipment was purchased when had to purchases a connectivity cable with it. As the devices grew the number of cables grew which made cable management hell for the poor home user.  Bluetooth has simply eliminated the need of using cables by going wireless. The older peripherals had all different types of cables for each device but Bluetooth is standardized communication protocol followed by all and sundry devices.

As far as the cost factor is concerned, it has been found that considering the cost of a home network, using a two computer, one printer, one scanner setup, a Bluetooth local area network is much easier and cost effective to set up than traditional one which requires a lot of cables, a hub and the problems associated with cabling which needs rectification every now and then. Bluetooth has set free the home users from the cables.
